Having been connoisseurs of the newspaper comics page for years, we have started this blog as a commentary on the current state of the syndicated comic scene. As many of you know, perusing the funnies page in your average newspaper is no guarantee of getting a good laugh. I have often read the entire page, only to find myself feeling nothing but disappointment and thinking what might have been.

Therefore, this blog will be a (hopefully) daily commentary on our local newspaper's comics page. We will note those comics that have exceeded expectations and actually produced a humour response, provide our suggestions for improving the comics that might have done so, and deride those comics that have long overstayed their welcome but, to our great chagrin, continue to show up every day (I'm looking at you, Garfield).
